Congratulations to Prof. Zhang Liqun, chief scientist of rubber chemistry of our group, for joining Chinese Academy of Engineering

Professor ZHANG Liqun from Beijing University of Chemical Technology was elected as academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (Faculty of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering) on November 18, 2021.  Academician of The Chinese Academy of Engineering is the highest honorary academic title in the field of engineering and technology in China, and Red Avenue New Materials Group Co. Ltd would like to extend cordial congratulations to Academician ZHANG Liqun, conducted as chief scientist of Specialty Rubber Chemicals for tires business in Red Avenue since 2016!


‘Special rubber chemicals’ is one of core products for Red Avenue.  Red Avenue takes green development of tire industry as our responsibility, sticks to the strategy of "Supporting the incubation of new tire technology & research and industrialization of new tire materials", and practices with "ESG" as the basic starting point and foothold. It is believed that China's rubber industry,  under the dual guidance of “deepening basic research” and “market-oriented drive”, will fit the development concept of “Eco Production and Products” of our group in-depth, and motivate further innovation. Red Avenue has long-term cooperation with Academician Zhang Liqun's team, with the achievements of 25 patents for invention applied, and granted patents cover as many countries and regions as China, the United States, South Korea, Japan, India and the European Union, etc.

Mr. Zhang Liqun, Ph.D in Engineering, professor, doctoral supervisor, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (2021)., is conducting the role of the Standing Committee member and vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, responsible for school planning, discipline construction, and technological development, taking the charge of planning and Discipline Construction Office, Science and Technology Development Research Institute, High-tech Research Institute, soft Matter Science and Engineering Center. In addition, he is the director of The Engineering Center for Energy Conservation and Resource Utilization of Elastomer Materials, Ministry of Education, the Director of the Technical Committee of China Tire Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, Council member of Chemical Industry Society of China (chairman of Green Manufacturing Committee for Rubber and Plastic Products), Council member of China Materials Research Society (vice chairman of Polymer Material Engineering Committee), honorary Council member of China Composite Material Society and chairman of expert Committee of China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association.

Prof. ZHANG Liqun has been committed on the research on rubber materials science and engineering, polymer nanocomposites, bio-based polymer materials and polymer processing engineering. He was selected as a distinguished professor of the "Cheung Kong Scholars Program" of the Ministry of Education in 2005; he was awarded the National Outstanding Youth Fund in 2007; he was selected as one of the first batch of the national "Ten Thousand Talents Program" in 2012; he served as the chief scientist of the National 973 Project in 2013. It has obtained more than 200 Chinese invention patents. The first winner will be awarded two second prizes of national technological invention and one second prize of National Scientific and technological Progress. About to receive the Colwyn Medal of the IOM3 Society, He has received Sparks Thomas Technology Award from The Rubber Branch of the American Chemical Society, SCEJ Asian Research Award from the Japanese Chemical Engineering Society, Morand Lambla Award from the International Polymer Processing Society, and IRCO Medal from the International Rubber Conference Organization.
